URGENT: For Bakersfield only: PE, TE, ME and SE will run 1320ft. Indexes will be PE-8.0, TE-9.0, ME-10.0 and SE-11.0. These classes will run in combination with the corresponding NJBA classes. This is a one-time adjustment made necessary by the large number of entries and to accomodate racers running for points with both LODBRS and NJBA. Racers registering with both sanctioning bodies will accrue points with each association.

The Lucas Oil Ocean Cup team in their 48' APISA endurance boat left the Golden Gate behind them at just past 8:30 a.m. on October 12. They crossed the Queen Mary finish line just after sunset to establish a world record for the Golden Gate to Queen Mary endurance run at 9 hours, 50 minutes and 51 seconds. The American Power Boat Association (APBA) sanctions this world record, as well as the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM), which is the world's recognizing body.

The Lucas Oil Ocean Cup team is thrilled to announce that Andy Hindley has joined the team as the 4th record attempt. Currently the Chief Operating Officer for the America's Cup, Hindley has sailed around the world twice and has extensive on-the-water experience in what many would call extreme sailing.

Follow the adventure LIVE! as the endurance team speeds away on October 12 from under the Golden Gate Bridge, attempting to break their existing world record from San Francisco to Los Angeles and continuing on to create a new world record for the 435 mile run from San Francisco to Long Beach. Pilots Nigel Hook, Dan McNamara and Lance Ware are up for the challenge having outfitted Lance's 48' APISA with two of the latest Cummins QSB 6.7 550 diesel engines.
