Following a lengthy 20 year haitus, Lucas Oil is pleased and excited to announce plans for the staging of the 2013 Irvine Lake California Classic drag boat races on Irvine Lake in Silverado, California, located in Orange County. Scheduled for the weekend of May 3-5, 2013, the event will be slated as the first of a ten-race National series race, bringing the top race teams in the country to Irvine.
LODBRS Series Director Ken Dollar stated, “Irvine Lake was a premier race venue in past years and to be able to race there again is extremely exciting for the Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing Series. The addition of another west coast event is appealing not only to our local fan base, but to our race participants, as well. The typically quiet, scenic lake nestled at the base of the Cleveland National Forest will come to life on May 3-5, 2013 when nitro-burning Top Fuel Hydros, Top Alcohol Flatbottoms, Pro Mods and numerous other classes of drag boats, both blown and unblown, take to Irvine Lake’s Santiago Flats for the California Classic.
